Using Dwell to memorize and reflect on scripture

Using Dwell to memorize Scripture

Follow these steps:

  • When you are listening to scripture, click the slider button at the bottom of your screen
  • Here, you'll se a list of all customizable options in the app
  • Toggle the switch next to "Repeat" so that it's on.
    • You will be prompted to choose what you'd like to repeat.  Make your selection.
      • If you are hoping to repeat a verse, or a few verses at time, you'll want to use the "Search" feature.
        • Click "Search" at the bottom of your home screen.  Type the verse(s) you'd like to repeat.  Choose your verses from the drop down list.  Once you click play, you'll see the option to repeat your selection.
  • Under repeat, there is a toggle switch for "Reflect" Turn that to the on position as well.
    • You will be prompted to choose what you'd like to pause between.
      • "Between Verses" means, a pause between each verse, for the duration of your selection
      • "Between Tracks" means, a pause between each item in the player.
        • EX: If you are listening to a playlist, each track (no matter how many verses) would have a pause inserted.
        • EX: If you are listening to a chapter of the Bible, choosing "Between Tracks" would pause between each chapter.
        • EX: If you are listening to a book of the Bible, choosing "Between Tracks" would pause between each book.
    • Under this, you will see a slider from 3 seconds to 3 minutes for the length of time the recording will pause between selections to meditate or think on the verses.

The pause and reflect options work independently of one another so you can choose whichever combination suits your needs best. Either way, we have found both repeat and reflect to be very useful with verse memorization!
