Can I enable or disable reminders on my specific devices?

Yes and no. Currently, you can enable or disable reminders on your different devices for certain kinds of content like the Dwell Daily devotional, our Advent and Lenten devotionals, and our new guided "sleep to scripture" experiences.

Reminders for Bible Listening Plans are not able to be enabled/disabled across all of your devices yet.

So Bible Listening Plan reminders will only show up on the device that you set them up on, whereas a reminder set for the Dwell Daily devotional, for example, will show up across all your devices that use Dwell. Note: The reminder will be set to "disabled" on all your other devices, thus you will need to "enable" it for any other device that you wish to be reminded on.

How to enable reminders on another device:

  1. With the Dwell app open on your other device, tap on the settings gearshift located in the top left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Choose "Reminders" from the list
  3. From the "Disabled on this Device" list, tap the plus icon associated with the reminder you'd like to enable. That's it! You will start receiving the reminder on your current device.

How to disable reminders on any of your devices:

  1. With the Dwell app open, tap on the settings gearshift located in the top left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Choose "Reminders" from the list
  3. Tap on the reminder you'd like to disable. On the "Set Reminder" screen, toggle off the setting which reads, "Enabled on this device".
  4. Tap save. Done! You will no longer receive the reminder on your current device.

What's the differrence between disabling and deleting a reminder?

If you tap the "Delete Reminder" button this will permanently remove the reminder from ALL of your devices - not just the device you are currently on.

Disabling the reminder will only remove the reminder from the device you are currently on. If you have that same reminder enabled on another device, you will still be notified on that device.

A Note on Time and Date Settings:

The time and date of the reminder will automatically transfer over from the device you initially used to set up the reminder. Let's call this device your "primary" device. However, if you change the time and date of a reminder on a different device ("secondary device"), the change will apply to both your primary and secondary devices.

*This excludes reminders for Bible Listening Plans.
